After the exhibition in Hamburg ended, no one wanted to buy ‚In-
verted Space‘. Because of this, the work almost disappeared from
public space. Today anyone who wants to see this impressive ins-
tallation about German colonialism can do so at any time, albeit in
Aachen. Dohmen is showing it in his front garden at Preusweg 5,
where it can be easily viewed from the street. He in no way claims
that this is the ideal place for such political art about German co-
lonialism. But until a better one can be found, he says, he will hold
the space. 17
